Starting a couple of days ago, the trees are coming down. Here are some photographs taken in Audubon Park on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th August 2001.


The Audubon Commission and the Audubon 'Nature' Institute take their responsibility seriously - Ron Forman, Times-Picayune.

Sure looks that way. But what 'responsibility' are you showing here exactly? Just asking...


"There will be a variety of new species of trees planted but the live oak tree will remain the symbol of the course and the park" - Angus Lind, Times-Picayune.


Caught 'dozing?
All in all, this is a heck of way to celebrate the wonders of nature.

"The locals I've talked to about it are excited" - Stan Stopa.

"Yeah well, the locals we've talked about it are 'excited' too, but not in a positive way, know what I'm sayin'?
