Brazen Reader Manipulation

Dear Editors:

For my journalism students interested in how subjectivity creeps into news reporting, I'll be recommending Bruce Eggler's "Audubon CEO Says Salary Did Not Leap." His characterization of Save Audubon Park as "the year-old organization devoted to criticizing practically everything done by the Audubon Commission and the Audubon Nature Institute" in the lead is about as brazen as it gets in reader manipulation. Cheers to our conservative daily paper in its ongoing efforts to bring this liberally democratic city its news with some style. Please tell us what you really think, Mr. Eggler.
